Welcome To Rill Farm

The original Rill Farm was a beautiful hillside farm situated above the river Dart in Devon, England. Here the sounds of the swift flowing river were permanently etched into one's memory.

When we moved to Canada, we brought the name with us ( a rill is a small stream ).After many years of farming on the prairies of Southern Alberta, we now live in the foothills of the Rockies, nestled in the beautiful James river valley. Here the river forms our South boundary and the crown land forest reserve our western boundary. A pretty rill runs year round between the top meadows. This sheltered and rolling valley is the perfect place for raising our beautiful Connemara ponies.
We got our first Connemara in 1990 and have been riding, raising, and breeding Connemaras ever since.

Situated in Southern Alberta, fifteen miles north west of Sundre, we are only a one and a half hour drive from Calgary where thousands of people come every year to enjoy the Calgary Stampede and to the many show jumping events held at Spruce Meadows.

So... come for a visit and see our lovely Connemara Ponies where they run freely on the meadow pasture, growing hardy and strong in the lovely natural environment of the foothills of Southern Alberta.
